Obituary of Edward Z Theis

Edward Z. Theis, 70 of Oxford NJ passed away peacefully on Monday May 6, 2019, surrounded by loved ones, after an extended battle with cancer.

Born April 12th 1949 in Rochester N.Y., he was the son of Mary R. and Edward K. Theis.

He is a graduate of Essex Catholic High School and worked at Kop-coat for 35 years before retiring in 2004.

He loved spending time with his family, often taking extended vacations with friends and loved ones in his vacation home in Hamilton N.Y. One of his great passions was firefighting. He was a lifetime member of the Oxford Fire Department and a District Firewarden for the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Barbara Theis; his sons Eddie Theis and Ryan Theis; his stepson Jon Paes; his brother Tom Theis and his wife Frances Theis; his nephew Tom Theis Jr. and his wife Allison Klavens-Theis; his nephew Tim Theis; his niece Morgan Theis; 6 grandchildren and 2 grandnieces. He will be deeply missed by them all.

He was predeceased by his stepson, Brent R. Paes.

Visitation will be on Monday May 13, from 4-7 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 7 pm in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave, Washington NJ 07882. A fireman’s Prayer and Last Call will be held immediately following the Memorial Service
